This class will focus on the aspects of Ashtanga Yoga that are appropriate for everybody. While many people may not realize it, the popular style of yoga today known as vinyasa yoga has its roots in Ashtanga yoga. This class will teach, in detail, both Suryanamaskar A&B which are found in almost every modern day vinyasa class on the planet. We will also cover, in detail, the standing poses of the series which help to open the hips and the hamstrings safely. One of the most important things in yoga asanas(the postures) is to open your hips safely without breaking your knees. Standing poses do this brilliantly and intelligently. There will be opportunity to ask questions in this class as well. This class is suitable for all levels of yogis.
Class time devoted to lecture: 5-10 minutes
